Blair is prepping for a laid back, goth night in with friends when she receives an unexpected phone call from her conservative, disapproving mother who she's been avoiding for months. A tense, absurd conversation ensues which brings Blair's repressed rage (and grief) bubbling to the surface. The mother daughter duo find themselves excavating old wounds, debating the existence of satanic cults, and questioning the future of their relationship.

Paige is glowing (and singing) after her first sleepover with Jesse, the new guy she's dating. But is it too much too fast? Can she really trust him? And most importantly, will he accept her for who she is, cheesy 80's love ballads and all?

Artist Statement:
Forest Creature is an excerpt from a larger movement piece with integrated text that explores themes of trauma, post traumatic stress, abuse, gendered power dynamics, and identity through the lens of fantasy. The central figure of the piece, simply referred to as ‘Maiden’, journeys through adolescence and young adulthood, only to uncover years of repressed rage and memories she is forced to confront in the form of nightmares. ‘Maiden’ is representative of not only the artist’s personal experience, but the collective oppression, rage, and desire to exercise (and reclaim) power among women and all those who experience gender-based violence.
CW: This performance does contain references to sexual assault, violence, and includes a loud scream towards the middle of the performance that may be disturbing/jarring to those who experience auditory sensitivity.
